Manual Therapy
Educational Background
At beFIT THERAPY, our doctors of physical therapy take a hands-on approach to every treatment they provide for their clients. Their skills in this specialty are based on the latest techniques that exist within manual medicine, specifically those taught through St. Augustine's School of Health Sciences, Michigan State's School of Osteopathic Medicine, the company for professional advancement of Physical Therapists known as Evidence in Motion.
Utilization and Goals
Manual therapy has been proven very successful in not only relieving pain, but also for increasing mobility in restricted areas of musculoskeletal function. Soft tissues mobilization, myofasical release, joint mobilization/manipulation, muscle energy techniques, and passive range of motion are all examples of types of manual interventions that may be utilized depending on your individual needs and/or functional limitations.
